To Our Patients:
We hope this message finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last couple months and I feel that we have a long way to go before things return to normal. Governor Laura Kelly is set to relax some social distancing measures, including dental facilities, on May 4th and local health officials have stated dental care can resume. We are excited to begin caring for our patients again! We have always taken infection control seriously and you may have noticed this at previous visits to the office. There will be some changes in our protocols to minimize risk, but our commitment to your safety remains a top priority.
Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations. A list of some new protocols can be found below.
If you have an upcoming appointment, please read carefully. First, if you don’t feel well, please reschedule. Our first line of defense against this virus is being responsible and taking care of each other. Sometimes that means staying away from others. Second, just because dental offices can reopen and our infection control practices are the best they can be, does not mean there is no risk to the patient. If you are uncomfortable with receiving dental care at this time, please call the office to reschedule. We completely understand. Finally, if you plan on coming to your appointment, please take a minute to visit our website. Under the PATIENT INFO tab, please select PATIENT FORMS, please view the 5/4/2020 COVID-19 Questionnaire. If you answer yes to any of those questions, please call the office. It may be best if your appointment is rescheduled. You will be asked these questions again at check-in.
You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 785-789-4468 or visit our website at www.bowenfamilydds.com.
Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.
